Women's Other Issues

Income
As most of you already know women make less money then men, they have fewer employment and advancement opportunities then men (even though more women hold a higher degree then men). For every dollar a man earns working full-time, female workers only earn 77 cents for the same jobs. This would have a result in women also have fewer savings and assets than men. (1.)

Expenses
Women's expenses typically exceed more then men's since 8 in 10 single parent homes are headed by women, it is women who have to take on the role of both work and parenting. And sometimes when the dad doesn't pay child support the women has to pick up a second job to make ends meet.

Women also typically pay high insurance premiums and health care costs then men. Women's credit scores are generally equal or better then men's but with lower income women need to go with a "subprime" mortgage 30-40% more then men, which mean lower down payment but higher monthly payment. (1.)

Caregiving Responsibilities
Women make up 61% of our nations caregivers. For centuries women have been the primary caregivers for long-term care, and today women still bear the responsibilities of caring for their parents or loved ones. Read more about women as careg
ivers.

Domestic Violence
Domestic is the leading cause of emergency room visits and homelessness for women. 1/3 to 1/2 of women are battered at some point in their lives. (2.)
